Yes. As long as the artwork and data files have been set up to accommodate variable image insertion, you can print as many different variations of an image as you like.
Yes. If you want to personalise your print then digital printing is the only viable option. Personalisation doesn’t only apply to text. It also applies to images.
Digital printing isn’t always the most cost-effective printing method. For large volumes or high pagination then litho printing may be cheaper. If so, and you still want to personalise a programme cover, for example, you can digitally print the covers but litho print the inner pages.
Digital printing uses toner-based inks that are fused onto the paper using heat. It prints directly from a digital file, such as a PDF or variable data, making it ideal for short runs, fast turnaround times and personalised printing. Litho/offset printing uses liquid inks that are transferred via metal plates – one for each colour. The ink is applied to the plate, passed onto a rubber blanket and then pressed onto the paper. The method is best suited to larger print runs and delivers consistent, high-quality results.

Litho printing is widely recognised for delivering the highest print quality, particularly for premium brands and high-end brochures, magazines, or catalogues. However, modern digital printing, such as The Mailing People’s Konica Minolta printers, offers exceptional performance and produces results that are a very close alternative, making it an excellent choice for most marketing and direct mail applications.
